China's earthquake damages 1.40 million people

China's dire earthquake has prompted the country's President Xi Jinping to strengthen the rescue operation in the affected areas.

On Tuesday, a powerful 6-magnitude earthquake in Sichuan province killed 13 people and injured more than one hundred people, he stressed on the rescue work on Tuesday. At the same time, he also directed to distribute relief in those areas.

More than 1,400,000 people were affected by the earthquake. Communication with all the surrounding areas is disrupted along with the city of Ibin. The electricity connection of some areas has also been disconnected. Shi ordered to repair these and rebuild the damaged infrastructure.

Meanwhile, several people have already been rescued and sent to the local hospital since the quake-hit earthquake
